Carousel Dreams

This painting was inspired by my three year old’s vacations – swirling and splashing through reality and imagination. Her delight on a carousel was unforgettable, as well as her fascination with horses, splashing water, and Shoshone Falls in Idaho. Unexpected color and interest for the eye are found with the color dabs on the large face, the water coming out of the window, and the bright red apple on the windowsill. Something fun in this painting are the water droplets which have thick drops of gloss varnish…so they shimmer like they are wet.
